Here at the English Language Lab we take personal privacy very seriously. As a general rule we do not collect your personal information unless you chose to provide that information to us, for example when you contact us to discuss lessons or make a booking with us for a class.
Besides asking for your name, most of the services we provide require you to send us an email or provide us with your email address. When you book a lesson we also ask for your Skype ID and you may also provide your phone number (although this is optional). We will use the information you provide only to respond to your inquiry, to communicate with you about your booking, or to conduct the lesson or course. Sensitive information such as credit card numbers, or bank account information you have used to complete your purchase of lessons and/or courses is not given to us directly but held securely by our booking and course content provider that clearly states the page and its transmission of information is secure and encrypted.
Our website uses booking plugins and third-party websites. We use those third-party services to interact with you, the students, and to build our community. In such cases, the third-party application may request an email address, username, password, internet protocol (IP) address, and geographic location for account registration or sign-in purposes. We wish to make it clear that we do not use these third-party websites or services to collect personal information from individuals. Any personal information collected by the third-party website will not be stored or transmitted to or by us. We have no control over or access to specific login information or any other sensitive personal information provide to these third-party websites.
We may share contact information internally with fellow teachers at the English Language Lab as needed to fulfill lessons you take with us. This information is only used to improve your experience.
All personal data that we hold about you can be obtained by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our teachers are responsible for maintaining that data, and we will provide details of the information we hold upon request. You can ask us to delete your information at any time. Data is held on students whilst they remain active learners with the English Language Lab but it will be deleted permanently either at your request, or after a period of 24 months when you cease to have activity with us.
We have no control over the data you share with the social media group we have. This is already private and only accessible by invitation; by the email address that you have freely given to us or by invitation via a friend of yours who is already a member. Being a member of the Facebook group does not give us at the English Language Lab access to your personal Facebook Page and we are not linked as friends or contacts. You can remove yourself from this page at any time. We will not be notified of or have any control over this action.
We will never use your contact information for marketing purposes. All offers, courses, and discounts will always be available on our website alone, and any additional services will be published on the Facebook Student Group.
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our site.
By using our site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
